Dimethylthiotoluenediamine-DMTDA Is A New Type Of Polyurethane Elastomer Curing Cross-Linker, Equivalent To Ethancure 300 In Which There Are Two Main Isomers Namely 2,4- And 2,6-Dimethylthiotoluene II. The Amine Mixture (Ratio Of Approximately 77 To 80/17 To 20) Is A Liquid With A Lower Viscosity At Room Temperature Compared To The Commonly Used MOCA, And Can Be Applied To Low-Temperature Construction Operations With A Low Chemical Equivalent. DMTDA Is An Environmentally Friendly And Low-Toxic Liquid Diamine Chain Extender, Mainly Used For Polyurethane Elastomers, RIM (Reaction Injection Molding), SPUA (Sprayed Polyurea Elastomer) And Adhesive; Also Can Be Used As Epoxy Resin. Curing Agents Are Now Widely Used In Polyurethane Rubber Rollers, Medicine, Stamping, Etc. 6. Application Of Diethyltoluenediamine (DETDA) And Dimethylthiotoluenediamine (DMTDA)
Commonly Used Are Two Liquid Amine Chain Extenders: Diethyltoluene Diamine (Detda, Commercial Brand Ethacurel00), Dimethylthiotoluenediamine (DMTDA, Trade Name Is Ethacure300). Liquid Amine Chain Extender DMTDA And The Speed Of The Prepolymer Reaction Is Lower Than That Of The Liquid Amine Chain Extender Detda. When Used Together With Detda, The Prepolymer Can Give Good Surface Leveling Properties To The Elastomer And Has Little Effect On The Mechanical Properties. However, Due To The Presence Of Methylthio Groups In Its Molecule ( -SCH3), So It Is Easy To Discolor And Yellow In Outdoor Use And Cannot Be Used In Applications Where High Color Retention Is Required.
A Hindered Secondary Amine Chain Extender Such As N,N'-Dialkylmethyldiamine Can Be Used. Its Structural Formula Contains One Unstable H And One Alkyl Group, And The Alkyl Group Is Equivalent To An Internal Plasticizer In The Molecule. Compared With Other Aromatic Amine Chain Extenders, The Reaction Speed Of N,N'-Dialkylmethyldiamine And Isocyanate Is Slow And A Good Surface State Can Be Obtained.
